File management problem upgrade from MD 2010 to 2015 on Mac
mac Yosemite 10.10.2 MD ver 2015.3 (1175) downloaded Mar 19, 2015
Download went normally
Item #1
The Welcome to MD screen was not hot when the program came up
There was a choice box to "convert only" or "convert and import" that was hot.
I chose "convert and import"
The program lit up appears to have self loaded and is active in my dock.
I never had a choice of what data set to convert, but
The data appears to be correct.
Problem: The program does not show in the Applications File
I can't seem to drag or move the program from the dock back to the Applications File
Where did the program go and how do i get it back in the applications file with all my other applications?
item #2
In the both the MD registers and in the summary page the extreme top banner bar displays my program name repeated twice with a dash between:
"program name - program name"
I worry that this double name means it is filed incorrectly.
what do I do about this please?
item #3
I so far have not found the place called "library" referred to in the instruction manual.
I want to copy the newly converted .md data file out to a flash drive. Where is it please?

Program stopped working. Moneydance top headers show, file, edit, view, account, etc. But nothing else loads. No summary sheet, no registers, nothing else displays on the desktop.
I really need some help.
should I just try to download another program ?

disregard 5:48 posting. I had MD open and minimized. I did not see the small dots on lower left of desktop. New to me. I guess that's why it would not display the rest of MD on full screen.
Items #1 and #3 still need help in 5:04 posting. Disregard item #2.

Hi Bob,
I'm terribly sorry for our delayed response! Somehow your inquiry slipped through the cracks.
Moneydance is most likely in your Downloads folder, so you should be able to drag it into your Applications folder from there.
If you want to make a duplicate (backup) of your data set, then the easiest way to do so is to go to File -> "Export Backup", then save the file to your flash drive.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

Bingo ! as usual you are correct.
The new file was in the downloads folder. It did not want to drag, so I moved it in Finder. Finder told me there was already a file in the Application folder called Moneydance and asked if I wanted to replace or keep both. I kept both. The 2015 icon no longer shows in the Downloads Folder. Resulting files in the Application folder are as follows:
“Moneydance”
dated May 2010
7.6 MB “application"… very small file
suspect they are related to the old 2010 icons that are still in my dock and in the application file
“Moneydance copy”
dated March 2015
189 MB application..
boots and displays apparently correct data from the dock icon, and also...
boots and displays apparently correct data from the icon in the Application folder.
QUESTION: It seems I should clean up the Application names. Maybe delete the old 2010 application ?? If so how should I proceed.
QUESTION: After getting rid of the 2010 file I could rename the new application from “Moneydance Copy” to "Moneydance 2015” or maybe just to “Moneydance” ? I don’t want the program to lose its path messing with these names. How should I proceed ?
Thanks for all you do.
Bob

Hi Bob,
You should delete the older version of Moneydance and rename your new one to just "Moneydance." You can delete the old one by simply moving it to the Trash.

Thank you. 2010 seems to be gone, and 2015 is working now renamed as "Moneydance".
