New user with moneydance in Demo mode and with an
imported QIF file for data. I can barely scroll down to the bottom
of the account list before it just "crashes", better said it just
disappears from the screen.. I have java installed, but get no icon
on my desktop as the installer says, so I doubleclick the icon in
the start menu list.</p>
<p>I was a java programmer for w while and may I recommend Java
gets installed (if needed) during the moneydance install?</p>
<p>I appreciate your help.</p></div>D Howardtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/396756392016-04-20T10:49:00Z2016-04-20T10:49:00Ztrying moneydance as quicken replacement and get crashes<div><p>Hi,</p>
<p>If you've recently downloaded from our website, then you're
likely running MD2015. I believe that MD2012 onwards, has been
bundled with Java so any system upgrades wouldn't effect
Moneydance's version of Java. In MD2011 and previous, upgrading
Java could have effected Moneydance performance.</p>
<p>Can you provide some more information about the 'crashes' you're
experiencing? Does it appear the program is still running, or does
MD close entirely? Does this happen after following the same steps,
if so, please let me know what you're attempting to do at the time
of the crash.</p>

<p>I uninstalled Java and rebooted. And re-downloaded MD2015
fwiw.</p>
<p>Thinking it may be from the import of QIF data I created a new
file with nothing in it. Crashes three times immediately, all
showing EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in their logs. Uninstalled and
reinstalled moneydance, and not much difference. I've never seen it
stay up more than 5 minutes before it disappears. I'm usually
looking at report, net worth , or account side tabs even though I
have an empty data set, most of the time it crashes even when I
scroll towards the bottom of the page. It's not running full screen
in testing, so a lot of the screen view is off page. I roll down
with the mouse, and it crashes. I don't see it still running on my
win7-64 task manager after the crash.</p>
<p>"Crash" as I described means the program disappears from the
screen. It's not minimized. It's not in the Task Manager list of
running tasks.</p></div>D Howardtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/396756392016-04-20T19:11:46Z2016-04-21T12:17:39Ztrying moneydance as quicken replacement and get crashes<div><p>I can add that yesterday I brought up moneydance up twice with
no QIFs imported and didn't scroll or click anything on the screen,
left the PC to get a beer, and came back to find it had
disappeared. The fridge is close so it was less than 3 minutes.</p>
<p>I really want this to work as I'm done with quicken. So
done.</p></div>D Howardtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/396756392016-04-20T22:51:22Z2016-04-20T22:51:22Ztrying moneydance as quicken replacement and get crashes<div><p>Hi.</p>
<p>I uninstalled the 64bit again, and downloaded the 32 bit
version. Opened it with my imported QIF file from the dreaded
quicken. within 2-3 clicks on accounts and 1-2 minutes do bye, it
disappears.</p>
<p>Would you recommend setting -Xmx512 in Moneydance.vmoptions to
give it more 'room'?</p></div>D Howardtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/396756392016-04-25T13:00:52Z2016-04-25T13:00:52Ztrying moneydance as quicken replacement and get crashes<div><p>I give up. Uninstalled all moneydance pieces.</p></div>D Howard
