Hi there

Can I use Moneydance across multiple devices? I have a desktop and a laptop, and would like to use both of them.

    Hi Elizabeth,

I'm not from IK Support, but you can definitely sync data among multiple computers/mobile devices. Here are the KB Articles that describe the process:

    Hi Elizabeth,

Just to add to forum member Tony's reply, you can share your one license key between the laptop and your desktop machine.

    Hi Elizabeth

    Moneydance is a grate program.

However, if you intend to setup syncing between devices using the sync method Dropbox Folder there is a small bug in current version/build of 2021 (2006) and 2021(2008).

Until this bug is fixed and before you set up syncing go into your Dropbox folder and create a folder called “.moneydancesync” don’t forget the period. Then you can set up syncing.

This bug has been reported to Sean the Moneydance developer.

    Hope this helps.

    From my experience:-

My primary device is a Mac and MD is synched through Dropbox Folder to a PC.

MD syncs very quickly when it is launched on the Mac but when it is launched on thr PC you have to wait for 'Finished Writing Sync Data' to appear at the bottom of the screen to ensure it has been updated and this can take anything up to about 40 seconds.

I thoroughly endorse Moneydance as an excellent cross platform program.
