Reading about the qif import issues, how many people just start a new money dance file instead of trying to move quicken data over?

    I'm a fellow user.

There is no way of knowing.

If you just have bank and credit card type transactions having history may be of academic interest only.

With long term investments you generally need the history so there is likely to be a greater need for these people to migrate their data.

I also can't think of any way to even guess about the statistics on this. I think most people will try the import, see how well it goes, and how much manual cleanup is needed. Then one probably makes a decision about how much time they want to devote to whatever is needed versus the benefits of that work. I think the answer to that will be different for everyone.
