Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program. You can download the trial version of Moneydance from our website on this page.

The trial version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test downloading data from your bank, and importing data from other personal finance software.
If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all data you have entered during the trial period.

You can find the Moneydance knowledge base here which will be useful if you're using the program for the first time. We'd be happy to provide guidance if you have any questions or need assistance getting setup.

Specifically, you could refer to these articles:
Importing Data in QIF format

Possible Problems After QIF Import .

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have tried the trial version, and it "sort of" works when I try to
import my Quicken data. I rather like to see everything that is on offer
and how it works by reference rather than trying it
out as a hit-and-miss action.

There are various problems with dates, as although my Quicken data is in
dd/mm/yy format, it appears as mm/dd/yy and duplicated in places or
missing in others.

/Kind Regards,/

While the Knowledge Base is not ideal in my opinion it is structured like a manual with chapters being the subject heading and with subsections in each.

QIF is not a perfect format, but it is the best that is available. Mostly it works reasonably well but it is not problem free. I do not think any of us could document all the possible quirks, QIF was never intended as a migration format hence the problems, but between us we have probably seen most of them at one time or another. So if you have specific problems post the details as fully as possible and we can hopefully offer a solution.

dwg
