I'll give me my take on some of your questions

Internet access is not required, as you have surmised it is only needed if you want/need to do anything that requires online access.

Well that does require internet access. Moneydance uses installable extensions to download stock prices etc. Depending on the extension used they make use of services like Yahoo, AlphaVantage, Financial times, IEX trading to source prices from.

Moneydance is personal financial software so there is no specific support for business functions.

You would take an accounting approach by creating categories for asset depreciation and appreciation and use these when posting suitable transactions.

The Change log shows what has been done in specific builds

I still have below few queries pending.

Extensions mainly are focused on Stock securities. Is there a way to download or import the data for MF?

Do we have any mechanism for the rollover of the remaining budget, specifically for a category?

I could purchase from this website or via the MS store, and I wanted to understand what is the difference between the two as MS store was cheaper?

Pricing data can be imported from QIF or CSV files

Software purchased directly includes a free upgrade to the next major release plus a 50% discount on future Moneydance purchases. I do not believe Microsoft offers any free or discounted upgrades. Interim bug fix builds are generally not available from third parties.

I'll leave budget questions for those more familiar with that part of the software.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/545482822022-06-05T11:40:52Z2022-06-05T11:40:52ZUsage Queries : Stocks, debts, budgets and version

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi S K

To add to dwg's comments.

Try it out for yourself.

The downloaded version of Moneydance is a full working version with the only limit being a maximum of 100 manually entered transactions, with no time limit. Imported files from other financial programs and your bank have no limit on imports, provided that you do not confirm them. If you decided to purchase, you are sent a key by email that unlocks the 100-manual transaction limit. If after testing with this free trial version you purchase and change your mind see the 90 day money back guaranty at https://infinitekind.com/refunds

Always go direct not through a third party.

For the future Moneydance never sunsets the version it releases. So, you don’t have to upgrade. If you won’t to upgrade the next version is free (say 2021 to 2022) and from then on you get a 50% discount. All upgrades within a version are free.

Make sure you are running this build of Moneydance https://infinitekind.com/preview

For information on how to use Moneydance see https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb

If MF stands for Mutual Funds then yes you can download prices using extensions. All my securities are Mutual Funds and I use the Extension Quote Loader, For information on the features of this extension and how to use see post 239 at
