Problems importing categories

I'm trying to switch from Quicken. I downloaded the free version to test it before spending the money. However, even though I created a QIF file, moneydance imported no categories. Only the transactions. I read about choosing another program when importing and tried to import it again. It duplicated all the transactions and only a few have categories. How to fix this? I just can't go through 10 years of carefully labeled categories.

To clarify, are you following the detailed instructions for importing from Quicken at What you describe could be a result of not importing only your accounts before any transactions, as the instructions describe. I recommend creating a new data file (File -> New from the Moneydance menu bar) and trying again following those instructions. If you run into problems, please let us know exactly which step you are at when things seem to be going wrong.
