In Canada, how do you download your banking info to get started?
I find this program out of the box is very complicated and not very intuitive.
Countabout is easier, but those folks just don't get it. I want my entries to be in the sequence I enter them not by size per day, that makes reconciliationn a nightmare.
So How does one go about downloading their banking info from lets say Scotiabank.

Hello,
It sounds like perhaps you have your register sorted by an undesired method, perhaps by amount? Try clicking on the Date heading in your register to sort by the column. You can also choose more advanced more sorting options by right-clicking on a transaction in the register and choosing one of the more advanced Sort By options.
Unfortunately, we've found very few banks outside of the United States that support direct OFX connections, which Moneydance requires in order to talk directly to a bank. The best way to get your transactions into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site. You can download into QFX, OFX, OFC, or QIF files (sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. If your bank begins to support direct OFX connections in the future, we will be happy to work with them.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
Ethan

Your bank may be supported by the optional Moneydance+ subscription download service but someone with access would have to tell you if it is on the list.

Hi Edward,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
In order to sort your register, you should follow the steps below:
Additionally, Moneydance supports automatic downloads using Direct Connect (mainly in the US) or Moneydance + (US and Canada).
Although Scotiabank do not support Direct Connect, they seem to support Moneydance +, so you could consider subscribing to this service to obtain automatic downloads.
Lastly, without Direct Connect and Moneydance +, you are still able to easily import your data into the program using the OFX or QFX file format, if either of these are available from your bank's website. If not, you can use the QIF file format. Please find the steps for manually importing your data in this article.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
