Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade from Moneydance 2012 to 2015. I bought a new license and the new app is installed and registered. I'm having trouble getting my accounts and data (from the 2012 version) to import/migrate into the new 2015 app. I followed the instructions here (see below), and selected my current file, but cannot get any data to appear in the app.

http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/getting-started-2/getting-started-opening-md-creating-new-file-registering

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave

    Hello Dave,

Can you try to use the open other option from the Moneydance welcome screen or the menu bar (File -> Open -> Open Other) to select your yourfilename.moneydance data set? That should tell Moneydance where your data file is located. If you're not sure where you have been saving your data, try looking in the default save location, described at http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2015/where-is-my-data-st...

    Ethan,

Thanks for the response. I followed your instructions, but still no luck - same problem. I’m able to select the correct file and Moneydance has a new window with the correct filename, however, none of the data comes through. $0.00 net worth, no reminders, no accounts, no transactions. Its completely empty. Here’s a screenshot. I get the same results when using the “Import new account set."

    Any other thoughts?

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Strange that it manages to pick up the account name, but none of the data. Can you send us your errlog.txt file? If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

    Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

    or:

    Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and type in:

    ~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

    Thanks!

    To whom it may concern,

I have yet to hear back on how to resolve this data import/migration issue. Please advise.

If I get my prior Moneydance data to import, I would like a refund of my 2015 upgrade.

    Thanks,
