It is all the same download.
When you initially install Moneydance it is in Trial Mode, the only limitation of Trial mode is 100 manually entered transactions.
If you later purchase the software the key received is entered into the program and unlocks the limit.

Hi John,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
You can download the trial version of Moneydance from our website on this page.
The trial version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test downloading data from your bank, and importing data from other personal finance software.
If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all data you have entered during the trial period.
You can find the Moneydance knowledge base here which will be useful if you're using the program for the first time.
We'd be happy to provide guidance if you have any questions or need assistance getting setup.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Hello Maddy,
As soon I can I will continue to test the trial version. So far I like what I see.
Question: Is it possible to back up your data on a USB key?
Is the data saved on the cloud?
Thanks for letting me know.

Your data file is stored locally within your system in the default location.
Moneydance creates an automatic backup file each time you close your file, until the set number exist, then each file will be updated in turn.
When these files are stored in the default location, they're accessible from Moneydance via Help --> Show Backup Folder.
It is possible to amend the backup file settings, if you like.
To achieve this you can choose Moneydance --> Preferences, then select the 'Backups' tab, as outlined in this article of the Knowledge Base.
From this window, you can amend the backup location, and choose the maximum number of backups to be stored.
It is possible to amend the backup location, to ensure the automatic backup files are sent elsewhere.
For example, one could choose an external drive, or a shared folder location like Dropbox, iCloud etc. This will make your data accessible from another system, even if you were to encounter complete computer failure, for instance.
You can also create manual backup files whenever you require, and store these files to a location of you choice. To create a manual backup file, you should choose File --> Export Backup. This will create a .moneydancearchive backup file - the same format as the auto backup files.
Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

Hello Maddy,
I need your assistance. I made the purchase today and added the yearly subscription.
I have set up the bank accounts. They are connected but are not syncing with the register. Let me know how to proceed.
Also, I am unable to add a currency to the summary.
Thank you for your assistance!
Question: For future reference are you reachable by phone or by text message?

Firstly, you should create your local account as outlined in this article of the Knowledge Base.
Then, you should navigate to the bank's website to check that your accounts are individually enabled for third party access and they do not require a one-time authorization password, for instance.
Also, please ensure that your accounts are assigned as described in this article.
Lastly, the local account types - listed in the side bar should much your online accounts.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
