Can Moneydance (strange that this editor thinks your program's name is a misspelled word!) be configured to use strictly my local drive for data file storage? What options do I get regarding data file location? I've had trouble recently with "cloud-based" software and possible data theft. I want my only interface with the web to be my accessing the data downloads i need to keep the data current regarding my banking/credit and investment info. Even then, I'd prefer the downloads to be manually triggered by me, not left to a scheduler routine within the program.

In other words I want exclusive control over my data. Any chance Moneydance can do that?

Thanks,

Mike

By default Moneydance only stores your data locally. You would need to take special action such as manually copying the dataset to dropbox if you wanted it stored in the cloud.

If however you choose to sync your desktop data with a mobile device, then the data is transmitted via dropbox. Of course we encrypt that data end-to-end and at rest.
