    Hi Pavel,

You can import data from Quicken. I switched from Quicken to Moneydance, but I set up all of my Accounts as new. I never imported any of my old data. I don't know how "easy" it is, but I did a search for you to give you some insight. It all depends on which version of Quicken you have and which OS you are using. In any event, there are individuals that would be happy to help you. I am a Moneydance user and not a member of Moneydance support. Here is a sample of information available to help you get started:

    http://help.infinitekind.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=importing+...

You can download the Free Trial version of Moneydance 2015 here:

    http://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software

It is limited to 100 manually entered transactions (downloads/imports do not count toward that limit) before you have to purchase a license. The trial version data remains intact should you decide to purchase.

I can tell you that I absolutely prefer Moneydance to Quicken for a variety of reasons, one of which is that it doesn't "sunset" as Quicken does. You can use the licensed version for as long as you like. They never pester you to upgrade as Quicken does. I actually prefer the interface to Quicken, as the Summary Page provides most of what you want to see at a glance. In any event, you can try it before you buy it. I think that you, like me, will prefer it to Quicken.

Here are the Getting Started Guides and the User Guide:

Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

    Regards,

    Tony

Tony, So you don't know if I can transfer PC Quicken data to Mac Moneydance?

You need to export your raw data on the PC using Quicken into QIF format, you then copy the QIF files, which are just ASCII Text files, to the MAC using whatever method you like then import the QIF files into Moneydance on the Mac.

Alternatively you could do all the migration on the PC and move the resultant Moneydance data set from the PC to the Mac.

    The choice is yours.

There will be some work involved and it may take some time. QIF is a very raw format, it was never intended for migration purposes so some cleanup is likely to be required, however there is no better format available.
