Is is possible to export your Microsoft Money data into a QIF
file and then import that data into Moneydance. You can do so
following the instructions on
this page.

Please be aware that importing data from Microsoft Money can be
quite challenging. You will need to be very careful in following
the instructions. Even if you get things right, you may need to
invest considerable time making adjustments to clean up the import.
It may be better to run a virtual machine of Windows 7 on your
computer to continue to keep Microsoft Money on to refer to your
historical data. Then create a new data file in Moneydance and pick
a specific date to set initial balances on.

Importing data from another program does import data such as the
category and payee fields. I'm not entirely sure I understand your
question from your original message "IF they can be transferred as
usable fields which can be queried in reports (not just as a memo
fields with useless text)". Any field in Moneydance is searchable
and can be used for Moneydance's various reports, so I'm not really
sure what "useless text" would mean by contrast. Perhaps that
answers your question.

I encourage you to download our free trial version from http://infinitekind.com/downloads
and experiment with the program before you decide if you would like
to purchase it. The demo version is fully functional and allows you
to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not
limited, so you'll be able to fully test things like importing from
other programs and connections with your bank. If you decide to
purchase the program at a later date you can keep all your data,
the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more
transactions.

In case you haven't found it yet, our full user guide can be
