Hi.

I'm a new user on trial. I've used MS Money since 1990 and had my first go at importing a QIF file. The file imported okay, but without the categories. How do I include categories please? Thanks

    Hi Robert,

Not sure, but you may have to perform some manual corrections. Here is a previous discussion on the matter that describes some inherent issues when importing from Quicken. It explains the fact that QIF files were not really meant for complete information transfer to other programs.

    Hi Robert,

Can you confirm that you followed the instructions in the following KB article?

@Robert, Ooops! Sorry, I know that you said MS Money, but I always associate QIF files with Quicken. I misspoke. Thanks Kevin for your update and clarification! :)

The main reason Categories do not come through is that you did not select "From another Program" in the import options, without this being selected category information is ignored.

Sorry everyone… I should have read the manual closer. My fault.

    Cheers
