<p>The easiest way to locate your data file is from within
Moneydance. To do so, open Moneydance, from the menu bar, go to
Help > Show Documents Folder. A file browser will open to the
default location for Moneydance data files.</p>
<p>The file format is <em>filename</em>.moneydance where
<em>filename</em> is that name that you give to the data file.</p>
<p>The program itself is installed on your local machine.</p>
<p>I don't use the mobile app so I can't speak to that.</p>
