checkwriting
My mac is 10.6.8. I have to upgrade, but I don't want to lose my 2005 version of Quicken. I only use it for the check register and printing out my checks when paying household bills. On occasion, I use quick report to look for a check printed in the past. Also, on monthly payments, the account number is automatically printed on the check. My checks are letter size with actual check and two copies on it. Will Moneydance do these things?

Hi Geraldine,
I believe that Moneydance more than meets your needs. It is designed specifically for personal/home usage. Moneydance's check printing capabilities are highly customisable and you should print on virtually any standard check. As you are new to Moneydance I would recommend having a look through the 'Getting Started' section of our Knowledge Base. You may also find this article on printing and checks.
If you haven't already, I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program before you decide if you would like to purchase it. The demo version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test importing your data.
If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all your data, the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more transactions. You can download the trial version of Moneydance from here:

If you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

I can't use this, my laptop is OS 10.6.8. Moneydance requires 10.7 or later. This is my dilemma. If I upgrade my system, I'm told I will not be able to use quicken 2005. So I thought if I could find something to replace it, I would upgrade. But I won't do it unless I can actually see how the replacement works. Thank you for responding.
Gerry

Gerry,
I would suggest trying Moneydance 2014, if this works to your satisfaction then IK may make a special license for this version available to you.
The older release can be downloaded from:
