Hi. I am an existing MOney user and have decided to take the plunge and purchased your Moneydance product today.

However, in following your instructions on importing existing (copious amounts ! ) of data / entries, one account at a time, Moneydance seems to automatically create new accounts for receiving entries from the account data transferred in. For example, having imported my current account, obviously over time i have seen cash transferred from current to Credit Card. However, Moneydance has opened the latter as a Bank Account and not a Credit Card. Thus my Credit Card accounts are operating as current accounts in Moneydance. Can I change their identity from Bank Account to Credit Card Account?

    Hello,

Just to make sure we're referring to the same instructions, is the one you are looking at: http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/importing-data-from-banks-and-other...? If so, what you describe is most commonly a result of not fully completing step 7 before importing your data, where you create all of your accounts, make sure they are the correct type and currency, and make sure they have the exact same spelling as your corresponding accounts in MS Money.
