Using Quicken for Windows
I have a mac book pro. On the pro, I've installed VM Ware Fusion to emulate Windows OS. On this Windows OS, I've installed Quicken for Windows. I would like to use Moneydance for the Mac, how difficult is it to import data from my Windows OS to Moneydance for Mac OS.

I am not support staff, just a user.
The data set folder named “yourdatasetname.monetdance” can be opened by the windows or Mac version of the moneydance software, it common to both.
You can Sync the data automatically using the new 2017 moneydance sync engine between your window and mac platforms. Make a change, say add a transaction in one and it automatically appears in the other, see http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2017/sharing-data-using-...
Hope this helps

As the Quicken data files are in a proprietary format known only to Quicken you need to export the data using Quicken into QIF format and import these into Moneydance, it is really a migration process moving between financial management programs.
You can install Moneydance on Windows Mac or both and as Derek has said the data sets can be opened by either version.
Knowledge base articles on the process can be found at:
