separate accounts, hence they would transfer the same way. I cannot
think of any easy way to resolve this during the transfer, although
it may work if you exported and imported on an account by account
basis rather than one single QIF file and imported the "bank" data
into the investment account.

You could look to see if the Batch change capability can do what
you want or of course just leave it as 2 accounts in Moneydance,
that is what was done pre Moneydance 2014 as the ability to have
bank type transactions in investment accounts was not available

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/382646832015-10-22T20:21:49Z2015-10-22T20:21:49ZQuicken 2011 Investment accounts create two accounts in MD

Yes, you are correct they were separate and linked. And I think
your suggestion of just leaving them as two accounts is a sound
one. I didn't know this was a new feature of 2015 so this makes
sense.
Out of curiosity I have tried the batch change on a few
transactions and its not a clean move so it seems easier just to
accept the imported data as-is and move on.

Thank you for your input dwg!

kking18474tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/382646832015-10-22T20:31:48Z2015-10-22T20:31:48ZQuicken 2011 Investment accounts create two accounts in MD

Batch change can be very useful and it can be very dangerous.
I've used it on occasions and you have to be very clear in your own
mind what you are doing and the effect it will have you also have
to approaching it form the right account or category otherwise it
can get nasty very quickly and result in you going to your
backups.
