Importing data from Quicken
I can not get your program to upload my data from Quicken into Moneydance. It will load the individual accounts but not the data associated with them. All my accounts have zero balances and no transactions loaded. The Quicken files are QDF files. Any help would be appreciated

Phillip, make sure you export your QW file to a QIF format. Don't forget to choose "all accounts" (if you want) and the appropriate check boxes. I just converted my large Quicken file and it worked great. I'm using Windows.

When I open the Window > Welcome to Moneydance there is no Migrate from Quicken prompt there is only the Create a new account; Import new account set; and Get help using Moneydance.

The steps in the base article do not work for me. All that is imported are the first Bank Account (alphabetically) PLUS all transfers to my other accounts that are transfers to/from this first account. No other transactions come across.
I've tried exporting from Quicken twice using "all accounts", but I get the same result: first bank account plus transfers to / from this first account.

@Bruce
Would it be possible for you to try using the instructions for 'Importing Multiple QIF Files', this way you can import each account separately.
The instructions are in the same knowledge base article as I posted before.
If this still doesn't work for you, we can create a separate discussion for you to work on your specific case.

Henry,
I re-exported from Quicken again, and it worked as it was supposed to work.
Now struggling with matching balances between Quicken and MD. Bank and credit cards are fine, but investment accounts are not. In particular, I have one investment account that should show a zero share balance (0 shares in quicken), but is show -10.3434 in MD. Number of transactions and share values match. Also MD report by security shows 0.0 shares, but portfolio view says -10.3434
Also, is there a way in MD to get a portfolio balance for an account at an historical date?
Thank you,
Bruce Dane

Henry,
I fixed the issue with the one account (by finding the way to show historical portfolio values).
One of the Div/Reinv transactions was treated as a fee. Once I fixed this, I was OK.
MD has a MUCH FASTER response time, but I’m slowed (hopefully just initially) because I don’t know how to do things.

@Bruce I created a private discussion for us for file sharing purposes.
@Philip Were you successful with the import, are the account balance correct?
