Can't get checks to print with addresses
1 I am using voucher checks.
When I calibrate and print a test page it prints the test address.
When I print my checks...no address.
I imported from quicken and my address book in MD is empty.
Even when I add the address to the address book, still no address on the checks.
2 each time I print I need to reset the program to print voucher checks, it reverts to standard
3 each time I print I have to recalibrate. Can I get it to remember to use voucher checks and to remember its calibration?
4 When I am working with investments. Can I modify the number of shares without " buying" "or selling" shares. To modify the number of shares, I have to create a dummy transaction to correct the amount of cash in my account.

1) It sounds like you have not actually selected a payee on the transaction you want to print. You can either enter a description in the payee/description fileld or you can select a payee form the the list. To select a payee put the transaction in edit mode by double clicking on it. To the right of the description/payee field is a little up/down arrow click it to see the field options. The payees have a little green @ symbol at the beginning of the payee name. You must select a payee if you want the address printed.
2) The most likely cause is that there is a permissions problem preventing the preferences file from saving. Please try following the instructions in the following article:

3) see #2
4) It not clear to me why you would want to modify the number of shares if you are not buying or selling shares. If you tell me why you are trying to do this I may be able to offer a better solution.

Re #4 I enter transactions manually. I update shares quarterly. As it is my
number of mutual fund shares changes all of the time. Once a quarter I
adjust the number of shares. This was easy with quicken. With moneydance I
have to buy the shares and then enter a dummy transaction to correct my cash
balance. You need a transaction called misc that allows me to manually
adjust the number of shares and cash balance. This if for those of us
mortals who still need an eraser. I dont trust auto download of transactions
and don't trust exporting to tax software. Thanx

You could try entering a buyXfr transaction and create an income category that would be the source of the funds for the buy. Perhaps call the category something like "Mutual fund share increase".

Not a bad idea.......It will still screw up my net worth calculation. I'll continue with the dummy transactions, I guess. Byron
