cash register sound not working - moneydance ver 2015

I read with interest the problem that Bill had submitted in July 2016 re cash register sounds in Moneydance. I too have similar problems with sound working intermittently mostly not working and occasionally does work. Only a small issue but would be good to have it resolved. I am running MD 2015.7 1358 on Ubuntu 16.04 as opposed to Bill's apple computer.
