What are the steps to download from USAA credit card? I plan to call USAA and ask, but want to sort it out here, first.
I'm able to download from American Express (easy), a bank and a credit union. I have not gotten the USAA issued card to work. I get through the steps and fail where it asks me for my ID and passcode. I have several ID and passcode for USAA, but none work.

Frank, I download my USAA credit card transactions with no problems. For me, the User ID is my USAA account number, without the leading zeros. I think that is pulled from the account number I assigned when I created the credit card account in MoneyDance. And the Password/PIN I enter is the 4 digit PIN I have to enter whenever I access my USAA credit card account online at the USAA web site. That PIN is separate from my online account password. I can't remember how I got that PIN. I remember having the same problem when I first tried setting downloads up in MoneyDance, wondering what ID and pw to use. I tried the PIN out of curiosity, and it worked. Hope that helps.

    Frank,

I would suggest trying Paul's suggestions, and most financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that they do not support Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."

Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!

Here's the info straight from the USAA web site:

    https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/faq_BankWS_Quicken_and_Microsoft_Mo...

How do I access my USAA accounts in Quicken?
Enter your USAA number as your customer ID and your USAA Personal Identification Number (PIN) as your password.

    https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/eft_direct_download_options_main

    Direct Connect
Direct Connect allows you to update your USAA accounts directly from your software when you enter your four-digit usaa.com PIN.

    Thanks to both.
Paul's first email did the trick, including the fumbling around. It is the USAA member # and (in my case) a four digit ID.

    Perhaps new topic.
Download is 90 days, which is standard. Can Moneydance download more than 90 days if I can talk USAA into letting me download more? Is there a download limit within Moneydance?

    Hi Frank,

Moneydance can download as much as your bank allows. the first time you connect to an account, we just ask the bank to send everything they've got, and the bank responds with all transactions within whatever their limit is. If you can convince USAA to extend your window to get older transactions on an account you've already activated, you will probably need to reset the sync on your current connection. This way, Moneydance will go back and get the older transactions.

I can confirm the above works. Thanks everybody.
-USAA number without leading zeros -and the online PIN you have previously set up.

American Express is the easiest to work with of my accounts so I began with them. They have a limit of 10 months, which is 7 more months than a standard download. I was able to download 10 months of data, with their help.
