I'd followed the instructions on this blog and there is no way to sync the desk top version with my ipod version. I can't see my device on the desktop, and checked updates, security system, same wireless connection. I have no idea what to do next. I also downloaded again money dance application. I'd really appreciate some help. I not even had a first sync, it just doesn't connect with the desktop.
many thanks,

Hal- There is one strategy which has worked in the past when getting this particular console message. After you see the "Requested Service Info" message, close the app on your iPad and immediately open it again. We are working on an update to the app which will use a new and improved syncing method, and we'll post on on our blog when it's available. Please do let me know how it goes.
Caroline- We have occasionally seen this issue with a small number of wireless routers. Could you please let me know the make and model of your router? We are working a new sync method, and as I mentioned above we'll post on our blog when it's available.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and I do apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced.

Rod,
Did you try the sync method I described above? If not, please try this:
I have no idea why this works, and we are working on a new syncing method which we expect will be much simpler and more consistent. Please let me know if this makes the sync work for you, if not we'll move on the other other troubleshooting possibilities.

Hi... I have the same problem... i'm using the moneydance windows version and the ipad app.
After lot of time trying to do the first sync, I got it... but, doesn't sync anymore. I tried in two differents wifi networks and nothing, tried the solution above and nothing...
There is another kind of viable solution to sync data between these applications, even if is under development?... like a common server or something like that, because, I thinks this kind of solution (sync through wifi) isn't the best one.
Thanks,
Erick

Erick,
We are working on a new sync method using Dropbox. As for your sync issue- could you please send the contents of your console window (Help->Console Window) as it appears after you try the double-sync method? This will help us to diagnose the issue.

Hi Angie,
Nothing happens on console, just shows:
"Starting Moneydance 2010r3 (751) Settings Folder: C:\Users\jung.moneydance
OS: Windows 7 6.1 x86
Java: 1.6.0_17 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
setStatus(There are no accounts to be downloaded, -1.0)
setStatus(Updater: You have the latest version of Moneydance, 0.0)"
Tried everything, turn on/off firewall, run moneydance as vista or/and as adm, turn on/off bonjour on windows, etc... and nothing.
There is a schedule for the dropbox support? That's a big feature. :)
Thanks,
Erick

Erick,
There's not a schedule, but we are hard at work on it. You're right that it will be an awesomely big feature, and we'll certainly post on our blog when we have an updated release schedule. The last-ditch solution I'd suggest would be to uninstall and reinstall the app- it's worked for a few people with this syncing issues, especially when they managed to sync once but never again, but it's not reliable enough that I feel comfortable calling it a solution.
I'm sorry I don't have a more immediate solution for you, but please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Hello,
I've just downloaded the Moneydance apps on my iPad 2 and iPhone 3G, and tried to sync with my MacBook Pro data, without success on either device. I've tried the work around described above, but that doesn't work either. Has there been any further success at syncing?
I looked at the blog and didn't see anything there, yet.
It would be really helpful to be able to sync these devices with the info on my laptop!

Lynn,
Have you managed to create the initial connection between Moneydance and your device, and that you've ruled out the most common issues which are listed in our FAQs for the iphone app? Do let me know and we'll move forward for there.

Hi Angie,
Thanks for your response.
I have not been able to make the initial connection between the iPad and the Mac, nor between the iPhone and the Mac, so I haven't gotten beyond that point.
Thanks,
Lynn D.

After trying a lot to sync with ipad, I gave up and moved to another software. The ipad sync was my biggest interest in use the moneydance, as did not worked properly and the support is very slow, no reason to continue.
thanks,
Erick
