Dropbox files lifespan
This discussion is public.
Hi, I synchronise MD with my Android phone using dropbox, and on my computer I see I have about 1000 files under "...\Dropbox\.moneydancesync\<xxx>\v2" from 17th August 2015 to date.
Assuming these are indeed the sync files, to free up space is it safe to delete the older versions of these files, and when?
Thanks

These are the sync files and you should not delete them. Doing so may result in loss of data. They should all be very small files just a few KB each. What is the total size of all of your sync .txn files?

Hi Ben, The total size of all the MDTXN files is just under 24MB. The
largest two are about 9MB each (these were the first two files created by
date stamp). Subsequent files vary from 1KB to 99KB (though all but 48 are
under 10KB).
I guess my concern is does this list continuously grow, gradually eroding
my "free" dropbox size allocation, or are the oldest files purged after a
time?

Currently the list will continue to grow. However we intend to modify the way these are handles with a future release that will prune txn files that are more than a year old.
