Moneydance 2021 crashes with secondary monitor
This discussion is public.
There have been several discussions about this issue already. Just wanted to report that I updated to the most recent version of Java (10/20/20), and that did not fix the problem. Moneydance still crashes immediately upon moving the app to the secondary monitor.

Hi dusty1947
Moneydance uses its own embedded build of java.
I assume you are talking about updating a external build of java, in which case it has no effect on Moneydance.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! From another response to this issue, I was thinking that the user needed to update the version of Java we are running, but it makes sense that it’s an embedded build. In that case, guess we just have to hope for a patch when it’s updated. Cheers.

Hi dusty1947
this from Sean the Moneydance sogtware developer posted on 22-10
An update on the crashing issue for this release:
it happens on macOS (all versions as far as I can tell) primarily but not necessarily only when there is an external display connected.
the crash is at the java/vm level so we'll need the fix to come from there. A new build of the AdoptOpenJDK is due out any day now
this same crash is affecting other java apps with much more widespread use so people are working on it and I'm confident that a newer openjdk build (see above) will fix it.
