Install Moneydance 2017

First, download and install the appropriate version of Moneydance for your system from here.

Converting your data to the Moneydance 2017 file format

Open Moneydance 2017. You will now see the "Welcome to Moneydance" window.

Click on "Import new account set" and open your yourfilename.md data file to convert your data file to the Moneydance 2017 format. To keep your data file stored in it’s current location select “Convert Only,” to have Moneydance move your data file into the internal library select “Convert and Import. Please note: Moneydance 2015 and 2017 data files use a new format and cannot be opened using Moneydance 2014 or prior.

Register Moneydance 2017

You can purchase an upgrade to Moneydance 2017 for $24.99 by entering your current license key here. If you no longer have your key, you can retrieve it using the key finder tool on our purchase page. Once you've purchased a key you can enter it in Moneydance 2017 by going to Help --> Register Moneydance.

Update your extensions

To update your currently installed extensions to the 2017 format go to Extensions --> Manage Extensions and click the “Update All” button at the lower left of the window.
