Archive - Upgrading to Moneydance 2017 from Moneydance 2012, 2014 and 2015

Install Moneydance 2017
First, download and install the appropriate version of Moneydance for your system from here. If you purchased Moneydance from the Mac App Store or Amazon please download Moneydance 2017 from there.
Open your Account Set
Open Moneydance 2017. You will now see the "Welcome to Moneydance" window.
Your account set should be visible under “Account Sets” in the right half of the window; select your file and click "Open". If your file isn't listed there, click on the "Open Other" button and navigate to your data file. Please note: Moneydance 2015 and 2017 data files use a new format and cannot be opened using Moneydance 2014 or prior.
Register Moneydance 2017
If you purchased Moneydance through the Mac App Store or Amazon skip to “Update your Extensions.” If you purchased Moneydance 2015 upgrading to Moneydance 2017 is free, and your license key will automatically be entered into Moneydance 2017. If you purchased Moneydance 2014 or earlier you’ll need an upgrade key. If you’re not sure what version of Moneydance you purchased you can use the key tester on our purchase page.
Update your extensions
To update your currently installed extensions to the 2017 format go to Extensions --> Manage Extensions and click the “Update All” button at the lower left of the window.
