Confirming transactions

When confirming a transaction Moneydance offers to merge with a transaction dated a month earlier and two months earlier but not the transaction that I should be merging with. How do I get it to merge with the same date transaction?

just a user - usually there are multiple choices to choose to merge with. In cases like this, examine the choices to find the one you want.
If you actually don't get the choice you want, examine why the earlier ones manage to make the list but the one you want does not (the value may not be exactly the same, or description, or something. Another thing you can do is shorten the "days to examine to match" in the Settings area.
