Not sure why unconfirmed entries are appearing at the bottom of the page but it is a real pain making necessary changes to line items and confirming.

It sounds like you are in split screen mode.
To the right of the New Transaction button there is a small icon, this is the split screen toggle icon, repeated clicking on this take you between the two display modes. If you now click on it once you should get the standard screen display.
It would be a good idea to make your topic titles more relevant to what you are asking "moving files" has no relevance to this question.
