"Mixed Interval" Budget Format
You should create your budget.
Then close the Budget Manager window.
Select the budget in the left side bar (below your accounts).
This will display the budget register where you can view your budget items.
Create Budget Items -
Select the “Edit” button at the top right of the budget screen.
This will open the "Edit Budget" window.
To add a new budget item, press the “+” button at the bottom left of the window.
This will create a new item (line) in the "Edit Budget" window.
Then select each of the fields in this new budget item, and amend as required -

Amount
Enter the amount of money you'd like to budget for this category. -
Category
Select the category you'd like to budget from the drop-down list. -
Interval
Select the frequency at which your budget will repeat (daily, weekly, monthly etc.)
You can also choose whether you want the time period to be prorated or not. -
Start Date
Select the date you'd like the budget for this item to begin. -
End Date
Select the date you'd like your budget for this item to end.
If you do not enter an end date, the budget item will continue indefinitely.
Viewing the Budget -
Once you have added your budget items, close the "Edit Budget" window.
You will see your budgeted items displayed in the main window.
Each budget item is displayed on a separate line.
You'll see the amount, category, interval, start date and end date.
On the far right, the column displays a graphical view of how you're managing your budget.
You can select the time period you'd like to view by clicking on the heading at the top of this column.
In the screenshot below, the column heading is set as "Year to Date".
Calculate a Budget -
Moneydance can automatically calculate a budget based on your past spending.
To do this, click "Edit" at the top right of the budget screen.
This will open the "Edit Budget" window.
Then choose "Calculate" at the top right of the window.
In this window, you can enter the information you'd like to use to calculate the budget -

Effective On
This is the date when you'd like your new budget to begin. -
Date
Select the range of transactions you'd like to use in the calculations.
Selecting a date range from this list will amend the "Start Date" and "End Date" fields below.
If you prefer, choose "Custom Date" and amend the date range manually. -
The final field allows you to select the range you'd like to use when calculating the budget.
Then choose "OK" and the budget will be calculated.
You'll be taken back to the "Edit Budget" window, where the calculated budget items will be displayed.
