Using the Mobile App

The Moneydance mobile app is a free companion to the desktop version of Moneydance (2019 and newer versions) and allows entry and modification of transactions while on the go.

Accounts, categories and recent transactions are synced from the computer to your mobile device.
Transactions entered or modified on your mobile device are then synced to your data file on the computer.

The mobile app offers remote syncing via Dropbox or iCloud.
This allows you to sync all of your devices remotely anywhere you have access to the internet.
Transactions entered when you don't have internet access will be synced the next time you connect.

You can find the steps to set up syncing outlined in this article.

Security -

The app protects your information using 128-bit AES encryption.

You can also secure the app on your mobile device with a 4-digit PIN.
To do this, enable "Use Passcode" within the mobile app settings.

Accounts and Transactions -

The mobile app includes the last 365 days of transactions within the following account types -

Bank accounts, Credit Card accounts, Asset accounts and Liability accounts.

Loan and Investment accounts are not currently included.

Then restart the mobile app.

When you open the app again, follow the steps here to connect with Dropbox or iCloud.

You'll then see a list of files available for syncing.
Select the file you want to open, and enter the sync password to match the computer.
