Connecting to TD Bank

When linking an account in Moneydance to TD Bank, you'll need to first enable Direct Connect.
This can be done by following the steps below -

Call TD Bank (1-877-284-4037) and ask them to enable -
"Direct Connect services for Quicken 2018 for Windows".

You will need to refer to Quicken for Windows (rather than Moneydance) because Moneydance uses the same OFX protocol as Quicken for Windows when connecting to this bank.

Calling your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started -

"Please enable Direct Connect on my account so that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken 2018 for Windows. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect to this service."

If there are difficulties at this step, then we recommend explaining that you wish to use Direct Connect for a program other than Quicken. Tell the bank the connection needs to be enabled without using the Quicken-approved “one-step update".

Once Direct Connect has been enabled, open Moneydance and attempt to connect to TD Bank.
To do this, select your account and choose Online > Setup Online Banking.
Then follow the prompts to set up the connection (as outlined in this article).

Once the connection is set up, attempt to download your transactions for the TD account by selecting Online > Download AccountName Transactions.

You will receive an error message indicating that you need to enable services on your account.

Then open the TD Bank website and log in.
Navigate to Account Options > Account Services, and select "Manage Financial Tool Access"
In this window, you can approve the connection from "Quicken Windows 2018"

Then open Moneydance and attempt to download transactions again.
This time it will and Moneydance will download all available data from your bank's server.
