Importing From Quicken 15/16 For Mac
Ideally, you should follow these steps to import a QIF file.
Quicken 15/16 for Mac doesn't export QIF files, however, it does export QMTF files.
QMTF files are very similar to QIF files, but they use a different file extension.
Export a QMTF File -
-
Open Quicken and select Export
Choose the QMTF file format or "Quicken 2007" format. -
Specify the date range for the data you want to export, and select Next.
-
Enter a name for your exported data, and select a location on your system to save the file.
Amend the QMTF File -
-
Once exported you should locate the QMTF file at the saved location.
-
Then rename the file so that it ends with the
.QIF
file extension (rather than.QMTF
).
Once the file has been renamed to use the QIF format, you can follow the steps here to import the QIF file into Moneydance.
It should be noted that QMTF files do not support all account types fully, and Investment accounts do not transfer correctly with this method.
