Backup Preferences
To access your Backup preferences, choose File > Preferences > Backups.
(On a Mac, choose Moneydance > Preferences > Backups).
In this window, you can choose the location where your automatic backup files will be stored.
You can also set the maximum number of automatic backup files to be stored.
When automatic backups are enabled, Moneydance creates an automatic backup file each time you close your data file.
A backup file will be created each time you close your file until the set number of backups exists, and then each file will be updated in turn.
To easily access your automatic backups, open Moneydance and choose Help > Show Backup Folder.
This will open a new window displaying your automatic .moneydancearhive backup files.
You can find more information about creating backups and restoring from backups in this section of the knowledge base.
